Above the Vanities

The end of all religions is the realizing of g-d in the soul. That is the one universal religion. If there is one universal truth in all religions, place it here--in realizing g-d. Ideals and methods may differ, but that is the central point. There may be a thousand different radii, but they all converge to the one center--that is the realization of g-d, something behind this world of senses, this world of eternal eating and drinking and talking nonsense, this world of false shadows and selfishness.

There is that beyond all books, beyond all creeds, beyond the vanities of this world, and it is the realization of g-d within yourself. One may believe in all the churches in the world, may carry in one's head all the sacred books ever written, may baptize oneself in all the rivers of the earth, still, if one has no perception of God, I would class him or her with the rankest atheist.

One whom may have never entered a church or a mosque or a synagogue nor performed any ceremony yet realizes g-d within and is thereby lifted above the vanities of the world, that one is a holy one, a saint, call it what you will.

As soon you stand up and say you are right or your church is right and all others are wrong, you are yourself all wrong. You do not know that upon the proof of all the others depends the proof of your own. Love and charity for the whole human race, that is the test of true religiousness--one must feel the oneness of human life, of all life.

The Secret in a Nutshell

The shortcut to anything you want in your life is to BE and FEEL happy NOW! It is the fastest way to bring about anything (prosperity, health, peace, love, etc.) you want in your life. If you focus on radiating out into the Universe those feelings of joy and happiness you will be attracting back that which brings you joy and happiness, including material abundance and everything else you are wanting.

Every negative thought, feeling, or emotion you have is blocking your good from coming to you. All you require exists right now in the invisible--it is not being kept from you by the Universe. If you do not have enough it is because you are stopping the flow with your thoughts. You must tip the balance of your thoughts from "lack-of" to "more-than-enough-of." Think more thoughts of abundance than of lack and you have tipped the balance!

When you are in a place of need it is a powerful feeling within you and so of course because of the law of attraction you will continue to attract need. If instead you focus on abundance and all being well and know with every fiber of your being that the Universe will provide, it will!

As you radiate out feelings of joy and happiness they will return to as the pictures and experiences of your life. The law of attraction means your innermost thoughts and feelings are constantly being reflected back as your life!

You must radiate out the signal to bring back what you want!

Excerpt from a letter about my brother-in-law's passing

I don't want to say this out loud, but I don't want to not say it either: Somewhere in the middle of the night between Saturday, August 25th and Sunday, August 26th, my wife's baby brother, Sky, took a gun and shot and killed himself.

Sky was a beautiful, loving, kind, funny, radiant, amazing man. He was only 28 years old and had suffered depression most of his teenage and adult life, which was only compounded by his mother's untimely death from cancer when he was 19 years old, followed by the death of his father six years later. I grieve for the pain he endured and couldn't survive, pain I knew only too well from my bouts of depression at that same age and younger.

There but for the grace of g-d could have gone I.

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that beautiful, loving, kind, funny, radiant, and amazing Sky took a gun and ended his life with it. I just feel a big empty numbness in my heart for all the love that I have for Sky that has no avenue to express itself anymore.

If ever I wanted a Mulligan, a do-over, a rewind button on life, this is it.

Anyway, I didn't want to thunk this awful news into your otherwise beautiful day, but I didn't want to not tell you either. I thought you would want to know. At whatever time seems appropriate, please tell whomever you think would want to know.

I wanted to call, but I am wrung out talking about it.

Ponder that as you go about your life this week, my dear friend. Not merely as it applies to you and me, but notice how every experience and every person you meet is directing or teaching or influencing you spiritually. Notice how you are doing the same (directing and teaching and influencing) whether you are consciously intending to or not.

We (us souls) are One. Each of us is an amorphous, constantly metamorphosing, multi-dimensional piece of an amorphous, constantly metamorphosing, multi-dimensional whole, the entirety of which is g-d. We all fit together perfectly in a constantly active and interactive shifting and shaping infinite and formless ball of energy (for lack of a better word).

You are not about to fall over the cliff unless you want to, unless you think you need to. Stop saying that (unless you want to, unless you think you need to). There is no cliff. There is no falling. Be in the moment that YOU taught me how to be in so many years ago. Love the one(s) your with. (And by "love" I mean act with love, act with celebration, and gratitude, and wonder, and joy.) See yourself calm, even-keeled, connected to each experience, marveling at the amazing intricacies of life, grateful for all that you are and all that you have and all that you can and will be. As you see yourself so you will be. I swear on all I hold near and dear that this is true. Trust me if you can't trust yourself on this one. All the rest will follow.

Of course it's not just the wanting it that gets you there, it's the getting in the car and driving and trusting. It's intention and action and faith.
